Rob Gronkowski plans to sign a one-day contract with the New England Patriots on Wednesday to 'retire like a pro.'
FOXBOROUGH, Mass. - Rob Gronkowski plans to sign a ceremonial one-day contract with the New England Patriots on Wednesday so he can "retire for life," fulfilling the wishes of a close friend who died of cancer earlier this month.

The ceremonial agreement was announced by philanthropist Susan Hurley, with whom Glankowski had developed a close friendship through expanding his word of mouth in New England.In August, when Gronkowski opened a new ballpark in Boston, where he donated $1.8 million, he said it was inspired by Hurley.Hurley asked that day, "Can we just make it news and show him that he can kill him as president?"
