The Cowboys and former Rams CB Kobe Durant have agreed to a trade.Dallas adds an experienced corner who can play outside or in the nickel spot.
FRISCO, Texas - The Cowboys are adding to their cornerback room in free agency as Dallas has agreed to a one-year deal with former Rams CB Cobie Durant.
Durant, 28, spent the last four seasons with the Rams after Los Angeles drafted him in the fourth round of the 2022 NFL Draft out of South Carolina State.
In 2025, Durant played in all 17 of the Rams' games, starting 15, and tied career highs in tackles (40) and steals (3) with a pick-six in Week 12 against the Buccaneers.
Some of Durant's best performances of the 2025 season came in the playoffs, as he broke up seven passes and caught three interceptions, including two crucial interceptions in the second round against the Chicago Bears.Durant's three interceptions in the 2025 postseason were the most by a player in the NFL.
During his career, Durant has played in 61 games, started 39, and has recorded 141 total tackles, 26 pass breakups and seven interceptions, returning two for touchdowns.Durant led the NFL with 151 interception return yards in his rookie season.
So far in free agency, the Cowboys have signed two safeties in Jalen Thompson and PJ Locke. Now, they've added their first corner from the free agent market in new high school senior defensive tackle Christian Parker.
At 5'11, 182 pounds, Durant has experience playing outside and nickel.Durant is second only to DaRon Bland on the Cowboys' roster in experience, and now joins Bland, Shavon Revel, Caelen Carson and Trikwese Bridges.
At the NFL Combine in Indianapolis, Parker laid out his plan and non-negotiables about what he looks for when evaluating the cornerback position.
"I think you have to be physically and mentally strong," Parker said."I think that's where it starts. You want us to fight them, put their hands on their chests and know that they're coming back from the things that make life great... It's a different place. It's a lonely place. You know, no Wi-Fi."
With the addition of Durant, Dallas is hoping his veteran experience will fuel the overall development of the secondary.
