In about nine months, the Chiefs left one of the most disappointing teams in the NFL.
That's how quickly life changes in the NFL.Either teams become perennial winners, or they get rewound into the cycle of one of the four or five surprising teams that made the playoffs after they were asked the year before.
To Washington's credit, the team followed up a pair of blockbusters for wide receiver Deebo Samuel and released tackle Laremy Tunsil after convincing Jayden Daniels is capable of leading this franchise to back-to-back playoff appearances for the first time since George H.W.Bush administration in the early 1990s. But the star quarterback wasn't on the field for the Commanders' ugly 28-7 loss in Kansas City on Monday night.

It's been the opposite of this season for the Chiefs, who have taken advantage of the injury and schedule position; his best memory so far may have been keeping Daniels healthy in a big win over the Wildcats.The Chiefs' injury woes also included losses to Daatrich Wons Jr.'s season-long streak.At this time last year, Daniels had a 6-2 lead over Mary to win the Bay of Bengals best Monday night.He removed Joe's burrow.

Washington stinks that Daniels has missed three games, but it's unclear if this team would have a winning record every healthy game.Monday night's loss showed just how much trouble this team has.The Chiefs can't survive like the 49ers and Buccaneers, two of the strongest teams in the league that have a lot of injuries.
With or without Daniels, the Chiefs must find a way to win their next three games, including in Miami, before a much-needed bye in Week 12. The Chiefs may be lacking in talent, which they shouldn't be after the trades they've made, but they are well-coached on both sides of the ball thanks to coach Dan Quinn and offensive coordinator Cliff.
This coaching staff needs to come up with a good game from here on out and it will be quick during next year's draft to find a replacement for Daniels.It is not someone that this team can bounce back from a losing season.Ask the begals and jaguars, or even the vikings, who were amazing as leaders of the games last year.But even Minnesota is better than Washington because it has four losses.
Now the Chiefs are near the bottom of the NFC standings with the likes of the Cardinals and two-win Giants.If that's not disappointing, then who knows what is.
