Scientists have found that Viagra reverses one type of deafness damage

About 1,000 people were born and died.The nature of life often presents challenges in today's society.

That could change, however, following the discovery of three genetic mutations that cause a rare form of congenital hearing loss – and that could be targeted in treatments that could include a common supplement and the erectile dysfunction drug sildenafil, widely sold under the brand name Viagra.

Mutations occur in the gene that codes for an enzyme called carboxypeptidase D (CPD), and were discovered by an international team of researchers following a complex process.

This resulted in people from three unrelated families in Turkey, all with the uncertainty of Connorinessions known as hearing loss, and rare and rare of the CPD Gene.

Once the genetic mutations were highlighted, the team studied their effects on health and identified a common nutritional supplement that could potentially repair some of the damage caused.

No arginine then means no nitric oxide, an important signaling molecule in the nervous system.Without sufficient amounts of signaling molecules such as nitric oxide and cGMP, sensory cells in the mouse ear become stressed and die, especially in the short hairs that are important for hearing.

The researchers examined fruit flies with CPD-like genes, looking for signs consistent with damage to the inner ear, including hearing loss and balance problems.

It was revealed that this "CpG" maintains the level of APDE in the hair cells in order to quickly cover them by generating NEPD oxide.

"And therefore, although it is ubiquitously expressed in other cells throughout the nervous system, hair cells in particular are more sensitive or susceptible to loss of CPD."

Encouragingly, when the team added arginine, cell death was reduced and nitric oxide levels were restored, alleviating cellular stress.While the experiments are preliminary and based on cell cultures and animal models, the results suggest that the common dietary supplement L-arginine may help restore some types of hearing loss.

Sildenafil Acting as an Amplifier of the CGMP Signaling Molecule Sildenafil has been found to provide another potential avenue for treatment.

Future studies are planned to analyze the biological pathways affected by the CPD gene and to perform similar tests on larger groups of people.Based on their analysis of a large genetic database in the United Kingdom, the team has already found that these genetic mutations also occur in other people with hearing loss.

Attempts to treat dementia for the deaf have already been made, and each study brings us one step closer to treating the underlying damage.

Zhai says: "What makes this so interesting is not understanding the lechonis of this type of cells, but we also found a unique pattern for these patients.

"This is a good example of our efforts to eliminate FDA-approved drugs for the treatment of rare diseases."

The research is published in the journal of research.
